If you have a particular request for a picture of the Channel Islands that you have not seen on this website, please use the contact form to request same.n If I don't have it, I will do my best to get it - After all Jersey is only 9 x 5.
My name is Sheila Baudains
My interest in photography started when I was just 14 years old.
I became a professional photographer in 1994, and following an accident have been taking pictures as a hobby ever since. Initially I went to our local country life museum in Jersey 'Hamptonne' where I would sit amongst the animals taking photographs and talking to the visitors. I loved it. I was soon asked to sell my images in the Hamptonne shop and from there thought I could sell images at markets, fairs and fetes. Since then I have never looked back. I am often seen around Jersey hobbling on my crutches, which convert quite nicely into a mobile tripod. If I don’t have an image of a particular area of Jersey it’s because I can’t get the car close enough for me to walk to with my crutches! The hardest although most enjoyable part, has been selling my images at the markets and other venues, however I soon realised why I have been told not to do this because of the amount of pain I am in afterwards. My images create a journey around the beautiful Island of Jersey. Some are easily recognisable such as Gorey Castle and Corbiere Lighthouse, but others are just my favourite places... oops that the whole Island! With tides changing and light never the same it's impossible to grow tired of photographing the island of Jersey. |
I always have my camera with me and love to take images of animals. The look on their faces usually give me the title for the images, especially my two naughty girls in ‘Sorry Can We Come Back In?’ and as for the hens - well don’t you know someone like that?
If you have a particular request for a Channel Island Image that you have not seen on this site, please contact me on the form provided and I will do my best to get it, after all the islands are only small.
